**PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) Job Description**

As a PostgreSQL DBA, you’ll play a critical role in managing and optimizing PostgreSQL databases. Your responsibilities will include:

- **Database Administration**:

- Set up, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
- Perform backups and restores using tools like pg_dump and pg_basebackup.
- Monitor database health, performance, and growth.
- Handle database upgrades and version control.
- **Security and Access Control**:

- Manage user roles and permissions.
- Implement security measures to protect data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
- **Performance Tuning**:

- Analyze query performance and optimize SQL queries.
- Monitor locks and resolve issues.
- Use tools like pgbadger for log analysis.
- **High Availability and Disaster Recovery**:

- Set up and manage physical standby databases using Hot Standby and Streaming Replication.
- Plan for failover and recovery scenarios.
- **Maintenance and Troubleshooting**:

- Address bloat issues and reclaim space.
- Perform regular health checks.
- Troubleshoot database-related problems.

**Qualifications**:

- **Experience**: 2-3 years working as a PostgreSQL DBA.
- **Skills**:

- In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture.
- Familiarity with community-supported tools (e.g., Pgbadger, Slony, Pgadmin, Pgpool, Pgbouncer).
- Understanding of multi-version control and data types in PostgreSQL.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
