**Introduction**
Waste Warriors Society is a non-profit organization catalyzing systemic change to solve the waste management crisis of the Indian Himalayan Region. Our work lies at the intersection of Climate Change, Biodiversity Habitat Conservation, and Informal livelihoods. With a team of 200+ Warriors spread across various locations nestled in the beautiful landscapes of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, we strive to create effective waste management solutions across urban and rural landscapes, with a special focus on eco-sensitive and tourist areas.
**Position Brief**
If you are reading this, in all likelihood you have been a tourist at multiple points in your lifetime. During those times, you’ve certainly been impacted by the amount of trash you’ve seen, especially if you’ve been to the beautiful tourist locations in the Indian Himalayan Region. You’ve felt the urge and the need to do something about it, to protect these eco-sensitive areas but you didn’t know how or where to start. We have the perfect opportunity for you
We are launching a first-of-its-kind large-scale responsible tourism initiative to nudge tourists to take pro-environmental action every time they travel through the power of technology and communication tools We’re piloting this initiative in Dharamshala and are looking to onboard people who are passionate about responsible travel, and are desperately looking to create a large-scale positive impact using their data and technology skills We’re waiting for you, yes, you Just like you’ve been waiting for an opportunity like this
**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Effectively collaborate with project or other functional stakeholders to determine their data & technology requirements and pain points in existing processes- Convert these raw, functional requirements into technical requirements
- Provide support on data management and governance to implement technology based solution such as WA chatbot, bulk messenger systems, etc.
- Lead development and deployment of data assets, primarily using Google cloud platform tools - Google sheets, BigQuery, Looker Studio, etc.- Perform data analysis, synthesize clear takeaways from complex information and present findings to stakeholders- Adhere to SLA & quality standards in delivering data & technology assets for the stakeholders
- Develop a deeper understanding of social development sector, especially in the waste management sector to perform impact assessments
**Skills and Attributes**
- A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills- Attention to detail- Proficient in data management & technology solutions such as Chatbot, bulk messenger, etc.- Data mining using SQL queries- Data visualization using BI tools such as Looker, Tableau or PowerBI- Highly proficient in Google Cloud Platform - sheets, docs, appscript and slides- Strong Interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills-
