Art & Craft Teacher

**Position Overview**:
The Art & Craft Teacher is responsible for developing and delivering a dynamic and engaging curriculum that fosters creativity and artistic skills in students of all ages. This role involves instructing students in various art forms, including drawing, painting, sculpture, crafts, and more, while encouraging individual expression and a love for the arts.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Curriculum Development**:

- Design and implement a comprehensive art curriculum that aligns with educational standards and the developmental needs of students.
- Integrate a variety of artistic mediums and techniques into lessons to cater to different learning styles.
- Ensure lessons are age-appropriate and encourage creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
- **Classroom Instruction**:

- Teach students fundamental and advanced art techniques, including but not limited to drawing, painting, sculpting, and various crafts.
- Provide demonstrations and step-by-step instructions to guide students through projects.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes exploration and self-expression.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
- **Assessment and Evaluation**:

- Assess and evaluate students’ progress through projects, assignments, and participation.
- Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their skills and grow as artists.
- Prepare reports on student performance and communicate progress to parents and guardians.
- **Resource Management**:

- Maintain and organize art supplies, tools, and materials.
- Manage the art room, ensuring it is clean, safe, and conducive to creative work.
- Plan and budget for art supplies, equipment, and other resources needed for the art program.
- **Extracurricular Activities**:

- Organize and supervise art-related extracurricular activities, including art clubs, exhibitions, and competitions.
- Coordinate school art events, displays, and showcases to highlight students' work.
- **Professional Development**:

- Stay updated on the latest art education techniques, trends, and materials.
- Attend workshops, conferences, and other professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:

- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art into the broader school curriculum.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and the school administration regarding student progress and classroom activities.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
- Teaching certification or relevant teaching experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of various art forms, techniques, and materials.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Passion for art and a commitment to inspiring students.

**Work Environment**:

- Classroom setting, often requiring preparation of materials and organization of a creative space.
- Interaction with students, parents, and faculty members.
- May involve overseeing art projects outside of regular school hours.
