**Strategic office context**:
The Child Protection Officer will be located in UNICEF Bhubaneswar Office for the State Odisha. The Child Protection Officer reports to Child Protection Specialist who is at Level NOC/3, for guidance and general supervision and works in coordination with the Chief of Field Office and the Chief, Child Protection

**Purpose for the Job**:
The Child Protection Officer work under the direct supervision of Child Protection Specialist. The Child Protection Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for child protection programmes/projects (e.g. Prohibition of Child Marriage, effective implementation of Juvenile Justice Act, Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act, Prohibition of Child Labour Act and other policies and program which strengthen protective environment for Children) within the Country Programme from development planning to delivery of results. H/She prepares, executes, manages, and implements a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting. The Child Protection Officer will provide technical support to Child Protection Specialist throughout the programming processes to facilitate the administration and achievement of concrete and sustainable results according to plans, allocation, results based-management approaches and methodology (RBM), organizational Strategic Plans and goals, standards of performance, and accountability framework. Child Protection Officer will be located in UNICEF Bhubaneshwar Office for the State of Odisha. The state poses diverse child protection challenges due to natural disasters and multi-dimensional disparities that renders children vulnerable to harm, abuse, exploitation and at risk of child Labour and separation from their families.

Research and report on development trends (e.g. economic, social, health) and data for use in programme development, management, monitoring, evaluation and delivery of results.
- Contribute to the development and establishment of sectoral programme goals, objectives, strategies, and results-based planning through research, analysis and reporting of child protection and other related information for development planning and priority and goal
