Role Overview

The Domain Steward serves as the lead data steward for a specific domain (e.g., Product, Customer, Finance, or Vendor) within a region/market. This role is responsible for driving the adoption and adherence to global data and process standards set by the Global Data Council and Data Champions. The Domain Steward acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for their domain, providing guidance to data operations teams, managing data quality, and serving as the primary interface for business stakeholders on master data management activities.

Key Responsibilities

**1. Governance and Standards Adoption**:

- Drive the adoption of global governance objectives and processes, tailoring them to the specific nuances of the domain and region.
- Define variations in processes, data quality KPIs, and role setups at the regional level, as guided by Regional MDM Leadership.
- Represent the domain in regional stewardship forums and provide feedback to Regional MDM Leadership for discussion with Data Councils.

**2. Subject Matter Expertise and Guidance**:

- Act as the regional SME for the assigned domain/segment (e.g., Product - Petcare, Customer).
- Serve as the primary source of knowledge and guidance for the data operations team, regional business stakeholders, regional data quality teams, and Regional MDM Leadership.

**3. Data Operations and Execution**:

- Ensure timely and high-quality execution of MDM changes by the data operations team.
- Handle immediate escalations and expedite critical master data requests.

**4. Data Quality Management**:

- Drive data accuracy within the region/market in collaboration with the Data Quality organization.
- Set and manage the regional thresholds for Global Data Quality KPIs specific to the domain/segment.

**5. Stakeholder Management and Business Integration**:

- Act as the primary day-to-day interface for business stakeholders regarding master data.
- Participate in key business discussions for important initiatives such as New Product Introduction (NPI) and the reassignment of customer hierarchies/territories.

**Required Qualifications and Skills**:
**Experience**:

- Considerable experience (7+ years) in Data Management, preferably within a Master Data Management (MDM) context.
- In-depth experience managing teams responsible for executing data operations.
- Proven expertise in a specific domain (Product, Customer, Vendor, Finance) or segment to function as the SME.
- Experience in implementing complex, efficient business processes, data structures, and workflows.

**Technical & Domain Knowledge**:

- Strong Business Acumen of the **FMCG industry** (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods).
- Familiarity with MARS or Wrigley specifics is highly desirable.

**Competencies & Leadership**:

- Demonstrated **Leadership skills** and proven management experience within a matrix organization.
- Strong **Stakeholder Relationship Management** skills, capable of engaging with regional leaders and discussing complex data issues with business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to clarify issues and provide guidance to operational teams.

**Job Type**: Permanent

Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
