**Purpose of the job**

The Data Science and Engineering Team works within the broader Collinson Central Data Team but is directly related to our Valuedynamx division, the division is in charge of managing, operating and servicing loyalty ecommerce programs. This involves working across multiple datasets (of varying scale and complexity), multiple teams and businesses to build appropriately styled, data-driven solutions to a commercial-product level.

The Data Scientist will be expected to provide analytical and statistical expertise across Collinson Valuedynamx division. Stakeholders will include both internal and external clients from across the Collinson group’s global footprint. This role will also be responsible for bringing in the innovation into the team, hence bringing innovation using Machine learning, Deep Learning technology and other framework.

**Key Responsibilities**

The Data Scientist will work across a number of divisions working with datasets from marketing, ecommerce and financial services within the Collinson group in addition to data sourced from clients in external organisations.

The Data Scientist will work on all aspects of the design, development and delivery of data products including problem definition, data acquisition, data exploration and visualization, feature engineering, experimenting with algorithms, machine learning, evaluating and comparing metrics, deploying models, iteratively improving the solution and building the tools for this process etc. You will work with data from diverse structured and unstructured data sources in both batch and streaming modes, and potentially various formats including tabular, audio, text and time series

**Day to Day Activities will include**:

- Working on all stages of projects (planning, development, quality control, production)
- Design, build and ongoing maintenance of our strategic platform and tooling.
- Converting proof-of-concept projects to enterprise solutions
- Exploring customer, transactional, pricing, text based data
- Producing machine learning models including supervised and unsupervised methods
- Producing reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders
- Rapidly prototyping proof-of-concept idea
- Being instrumental in architecting and executing solutions

**Team Working**
- Be an active member of the Data Team within Valuedynamx, contribute to team dynamics, ways of working and assisting with improvement opportunities
- Provide regular and accurate reports of progress to technical leads where required.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders with a view to providing high-value solutions within the business whilst keeping communication channels open at all times
- Maintain strong technical awareness and familiarity with new and upcoming technologies around Data Integration and Business Intelligence Analysis.
- Stay abreast of the industry and participate in external communities in order to keep up to date and offer the most informed position when defining or consulting on solution design
