**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Title**: Legal Counsel - Commercial (MHG, GRM and East)

Function: Legal

Work Location: Bangalore

**Position Description**:

- This position will be a part of the legal team providing legal support to the Commercial function. This position will work closely with the Associate General Counsel - Commercial (AGC - C), Senior Legal Counsel - Commercial and other Commercial Function Leaders to help achieve business results.
- Your work will include managing any pro-active litigations filed by HCCB in connection with accounts receivables and sales generating assets placed with customers, drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, purchase orders, terms of trade with customers, providing legal advice in connection with sales promotions, discount schemes, trade incentives, on and off invoice discounts, contract management for the Commercial function, managing external counsel relationships, controlling legal spends, commercial function related policy review and creation, providing transactional support to the business, trainings and administration for the legal department.
- This position will engage and interact with other members of the HCCB legal department who support HCCB’s businesses and facilities, and with experts who advise and manage matters related to real estate, food laws, labour advisory and corporate secretarial.

**Day to Day Responsibilities in MHG, GRM and East Sales Zones**:
- Part of the team to provide legal advisory to the Commercial function and their leadership teams;-
- Assist the AGC - C in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts, purchase orders, terms of trade with customers;-
- Provide legal advisory support in connection with commercial transactions, sales promotions, discount schemes, trade incentives, on and off invoice discounts;-
- Provide regulatory support in connection with anti-trust law compliance;-
- Stay engaged in material Commercial relationships to minimize risk of business disruption or dispute;-
- Coordinate training initiatives and material development;-
- Enforce compliance with HCCB’s guidelines and procedures; and-
- Keep informed of current laws, regulations, and developments.**Functional Capabilities**:

- Previous experience with:
- Anti-trust regulations;-
- Commercial contracts;-
- Food laws including food safety and packaging and labelling; and-
- Labour laws including contract labour management.**Areas of Expertise**:

Qualifications: Bachelor’s in Law (LLB).

Experience: 6+ years of relevant experience in FMCG or manufacturing with a mix of law firm and in-house experience.

Travel: Occasionally for department meetings, representations before govt. agencies, sales personnel, and customer trainings.
