Duties of a Dermatologist in a Polyclinic Setup with a Focus on Cosmetic Skin Treatments

1. Patient Consultation and Diagnosis
- Conduct detailed consultations to assess patients’ skin concerns and medical history.
- Diagnose skin conditions and recommend appropriate cosmetic or medical treatments.

2. Cosmetic Treatment Planning
- Design personalized treatment plans tailored to patients’ cosmetic goals and skin type.
- Educate patients on the benefits, risks, and outcomes of various cosmetic procedures.

3. Performing Cosmetic Procedures
- Administer treatments such as:

- Chemical peels.
- Laser therapy for skin rejuvenation, pigmentation, or hair removal.
- Botox and dermal filler injections for anti-aging and contouring.
- Microneedling and PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy for skin regeneration.
- Non-surgical body contouring (e.g., cryolipolysis).
- Advanced facials and skin resurfacing techniques.

4. Skincare Prescription and Guidance
- Recommend and prescribe dermatological products for post-treatment care and maintenance.
- Advise on daily skincare routines tailored to individual needs.

5. Collaboration with Other Specialists
- Work closely with other healthcare providers in the polyclinic to ensure holistic patient care.
- Refer patients to other specialists for conditions beyond the scope of cosmetic dermatology.

6. Follow-Up and Patient Care
- Monitor patients’ progress and address any concerns during follow-up visits.
- Provide post-treatment guidance to optimize results and ensure satisfaction.

7. Maintaining Equipment and Hygiene Standards
- Ensure that all cosmetic dermatology equipment is regularly maintained and calibrated.
- Adhere to strict hygiene protocols to prevent infections or complications.

8. Patient Education and Counseling
- Conduct workshops or informational sessions to promote awareness of cosmetic dermatology options.
- Address psychological and emotional aspects of cosmetic concerns with empathy.

9. Stay Updated on Industry Trends
- Participate in professional development programs to learn the latest techniques and advancements in cosmetic dermatology.
- Integrate new treatments and technologies into the clinic’s offerings.

10. Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment plans and outcomes.
- Assist in developing marketing strategies to promote cosmetic dermatology services.
- Manage inventory of skincare products and ensure availability of necessary supplies.
