Junior Legal Associate

**Job Summary**:
The Junior Legal Associate for the Land & Revenue Department will assist the legal team in managing land acquisition, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting contract review, and handling revenue-related legal matters. The role provides an opportunity to learn about land laws and renewable energy regulations while supporting solar energy project development.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Land Acquisition Support**:

- Assist in conducting legal due diligence for land acquisitions, including verifying title deeds, checking encumbrances, and ensuring compliance with applicable land revenue laws.
- Support the senior legal team in preparing and reviewing land acquisition documents, including Sale Deeds, Lease Agreements, and related contracts.
- Help maintain accurate records of land agreements and legal documentation.
- **Regulatory Compliance**:

- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national regulations concerning land acquisition, environmental permits, and renewable energy projects.
- Assist in preparing documentation for regulatory submissions and approvals required for land use and solar project development.
- Research land laws, renewable energy regulations, and environmental compliance requirements to keep the legal team updated.
- **Contract Review & Documentation**:

- Help draft, review, and amend legal documents such as land lease agreements, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and other contracts under the supervision of senior legal associates.
- Assist in tracking contract renewals, expirations, and necessary amendments.
- **Litigation & Dispute Resolution Assistance**:

- Provide support in resolving land-related disputes, tenancy issues, and other legal matters under the guidance of senior legal associates.
- Help coordinate with external legal counsel, collect required information, and prepare necessary documents for court proceedings or arbitration.
- **Stakeholder Coordination**:

- Assist in liaising with government officials, local landowners, and third-party vendors during the land acquisition process.
- Support the legal team in interactions with internal departments (e.g., project management, finance) to ensure legal compliance and proper documentation.
- **Research & Reporting**:

- Conduct legal research on land acquisition, property laws, renewable energy policies, and regulatory changes.
- Prepare and submit legal reports and updates to senior legal associates regarding ongoing cases, contracts, and compliance status.
- Assist in maintaining a comprehensive database of all legal matters, contracts, and communications.
- **Risk Management**:

- Identify potential legal risks related to land acquisitions and contracts and provide recommendations to mitigate these risks under the guidance of senior legal associates.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) from a recognized university.
- 0-2 years of experience in legal practice, preferably with a focus on land acquisition, property law, or renewable energy.
- Knowledge of land laws, property regulations, and environmental compliance.
- Basic understanding of the solar energy sector and renewable energy laws is a plus.
