**We are looking for a Research Engineer**

**Introduction**

**With over 1,900 researchers worldwide, the Technology organization occupies a special position within Siemens' R&D facilities. It functions as an international network of expertise and as a global partner for technology and innovations. Through its R&D activities in Germany, the USA, China, India, Russia and Eastern Europe, Technology helps secure the company's technological future and bolster its competitiveness.**

**You’ll create impact by**:

- PhD or master’s degree in computer science or a related field from a reputed institute.
- Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience in designing and solving complex problems, with a strong focus on deriving actionable insights.

**You’d describe yourself as**:

- Shown experience in training deep convolutional and/or recurrent neural networks using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Caffe.
- Strong proficiency in OpenCV and OpenGL.
- Experience in research, development, and prototyping of software for:
Ø Object detection and tracking

Ø Semantic segmentation

Ø Action recognition

Ø 3D reconstruction

Ø SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping)
- Experience working with multimodal data (audio, video, text, sensors, etc.) and identifying efficient technologies for prototyping and productization.
- Deep understanding of image processing, computer vision, and video analytics, with the ability to implement relevant algorithms, especially deep learning-based methods.

**Soft Skills (Must-Have)**:

- Ability to detail technical information clearly and concisely for customer discussions.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with customers, understand difficulties, translate them into technical requirements, and propose state-of-the-art solutions.

**Nice to Have**:

- Knowledge of SaaS fundamentals.
- Experience in solution build, architecture, and software packaging using Docker/Kubernetes, with deployment on cloud platforms.
- Collaborative perspective to work with multi-functional teams from ideation to prototyping, and present solutions to business collaborators.
- Ability to influence technology choices and remove barriers to adoption.
- Passion for staying updated with the latest developments in AI and being an early adopter of radical technologies.
