**Job Title**: Pastry Chef
**Location**: Bandra
**Reports To**: Café Manager / Executive Chef
**Job Summary**
The Pastry Chef is responsible for creating high-quality baked goods and pastries, including specialty bagels, desserts, and seasonal items. This role involves managing the pastry kitchen, developing new recipes, and ensuring all products meet the bakery’s standards for taste and presentation.
**Key ResponsibilitiesPastry Production**
- Prepare a variety of pastries, desserts, bagels, and baked goods according to the café’s menu.
- Develop and test new recipes to introduce fresh and innovative items.
- Maintain consistency in product quality, flavor, and presentation.
- Adjust recipes to accommodate customer preferences, dietary needs, or seasonal themes.
**Kitchen Management**
- Oversee the daily operations of the pastry kitchen, including preparation schedules.
- Ensure workstations are clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Monitor the freshness of ingredients and manage inventory levels to minimize waste.
- Train and supervise kitchen assistants or junior pastry chefs.
**Quality Assurance**
- Ensure all pastries and baked goods comply with food safety standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular quality checks on ingredients and finished products.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
**Collaboration & Creativity**
- Work closely with the Café Manager and team to align product offerings with customer demand.
- Collaborate on menu updates, seasonal promotions, and event-specific items (e.g., Christmas hampers).
- Incorporate feedback from customers and staff to refine recipes and offerings.
**Qualifications**
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Baker in a professional setting.
- Formal training in pastry arts, baking, or culinary arts (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, including dough preparation, baking, and decoration.
- Creativity and passion for developing unique and appealing pastries.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet production deadlines.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
