**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Assessment and Evaluation**:

- Conduct assessments to identify students' needs and develop appropriate educational goals.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and other professionals to create and review IEPs.
- **Individualized Instruction**:

- Design and implement specialized instructional strategies and interventions tailored to each student's needs.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles.
- **Classroom Support**:

- Work collaboratively with general education teachers to support the inclusion of students with special needs in mainstream classrooms.
- Provide support and guidance to students in a variety of settings, including one-on-one, small groups, and classroom environments.
- **Behavior Management**:

- Develop and implement behavior intervention plans to address challenging behaviors.
- Monitor and document student behavior and progress, providing feedback to parents and staff as necessary.
- **Collaboration and Communication**:

- Maintain open lines of communication with parents, providing regular updates on student progress and strategies for support at home.
- Collaborate with other specialists (e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists) to provide comprehensive support for students.
- **Professional Development**:

- Stay current with best practices in special education through ongoing training and professional development.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of school-wide special education policies.
- **Advocacy**:

- Advocate for the needs of students with disabilities and promote awareness of their rights within the school community.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and encourages acceptance.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
- Minimum 4 years of experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed.
