**Responsibilities**:
The Chief Business Officer will be responsible for leading and executing our business development and operations strategy across India. As part of the leadership team, the CBO will be in charge of strategic partnerships and alliances, team building & development, driving strategic initiatives within the team and overall P&L

**Responsibilities**

**Leadership & Strategy**:
1. Act as the principal advisor to the board on issues concerning business management and strategy.
2. Develop and maintain an appropriate management structure within the organization.
3. Provide well-founded and documented advice on business strategy and deal with consultants as necessary.
4. Assist the Board in developing the mission and vision of the company.
5. Prepare 5-year plans detailing portfolio, expected cash flows, and market trends.
6. Develop and implement strategic and annual plans.
7. Ensure the company operates in a cost-effective manner and propose an annual budget and cost framework for activities.

**Operations & Business Development**:
1. Achieve targeted profitability and fee income.
2. Achieve periodic sales targets of assigned portfolios.
3. Undertake new client acquisition, retention, and growth plan for larger customers and location base.
4. Identify potential clients (Corporates, Institutions, HNIs, MFs) through referral networks.
5. Stay abreast of the client’s requirements and maintain close relationships.
6. Ensure effective and proper client servicing, resolving queries and complaints.
7. Ensure policy adherence and documentation.
8. Formulate periodic MIS and review policy to minimize NPAs.
9. Team Building & Development
10. Driving SOPs, processes and automation in all operational initiatives
11. Recruit team members and manage a nationwide sales team to achieve sales targets.
12. Motivate and develop employees.
13. Define and document primary responsibilities for employees.
14. Establish HR policy and ensure compliances including all RBI compliances
15. Identify and mentor team for next-level responsibility.

**Compliance & Risk Management**:
1. Ensure adherence to all critical policies and procedures.
2. Provide advice on and prepare risk and review policies, compliance reports to RBI/NHB.
3. Respond to Ad-hoc enquiries from RBI/NHB with a request for information.
4. Provide financial reporting and accounting for the preparation of quarterly and annual accounts.

**Required Skills and Experience**

1. 15+ years of strong experience in sales, strategy, operations, supply chain financing, trade financing in the banking and financial services ecosystem.
2. Leadership ability to drive strategic initiatives within the team and lead the overall P&L responsibility for the business.
3. Strong experience in business development, partnerships, and alliances in the BFSI vertical.
4. Ability to build the business from the initial stage and scale it exponentially.
5. Team Management experience and strategic sales exposure is a must.
6. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
7. Understanding of financial products for banks & NBFCs, and knowledge of RBI/NHB compliances.
