Belt Technician

**Title : Belt Work Technician ( Abroad Opening )** **Qualification : High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical or electrical fields is preferred.** **Experience : 5 - 10 years** **Summary**: The Conveyor Belt Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of conveyor belts used in mining and logistics. This role involves ensuring the efficient and safe operation of conveyor belt systems, troubleshooting issues, and performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. **Responsibilities** "1. Understanding of conveyor belt systems, their components, and how they operate is essential. This includes knowledge of size of conveyor belts and their specific requirements for joining. 2. Various splicing techniques such as mechanical splicing, vulcanization, and chemical bonding. Each method requires specific skills and knowledge to execute effectively in field. Precision is critical when measuring, cutting, and aligning conveyor belts to ensure they operate smoothly without causing damage. 3. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to conveyor belt joints, such as tracking problems, belt slippage, and mechanical failures. **Installation and Setup**: 1. Install and configure conveyor belt systems according to specifications and requirements. 2. Ensure proper alignment, tension, and tracking of conveyor belts. 3. Test newly installed systems to ensure they are operational and meet performance standards. **Maintenance and Repairs**: 1. Conduct regular inspections of conveyor belts and related equipment to identify wear and tear or potential issues. 2. Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, cleaning, and adjustment of components. 3. Repair or replace worn or damaged conveyor belt parts, such as belts, rollers, and pulleys. **Troubleshooting**: 1. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with conveyor belts and related machinery. 2. Implement effective solutions to resolve issues and minimize downtime. 3. Collaborate with other maintenance staff and departments to address complex problems. **Safety and Compliance**: 1. Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. 2. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations regarding the operation and maintenance of conveyor systems. 3. Conduct safety inspections and participate in safety training programs. **Documentation and Reporting**: 1. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. 2. Prepare reports on the condition of conveyor belts and any actions taken. 3. Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding the status of equipment and any issues encountered. **Operational Support**: 1. Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance schedules and procedures. 2. Provide training and guidance to junior technicians or new employees. 3.
