Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced System Administrator to join our dynamic and fast-paced team.
Under the direction of the IT Manager, you will be responsible for a wide range of system administration and development duties.
**Responsibilities**:
- Maintain and manage the company's computing infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, scan gun hardware and networking equipment.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve technical problems.
- Oversee the planning, approval, and implementation of technology projects from inception to completion.
- Document processes and systems pertaining to the IT infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect the company's information and systems.
- Develop scripts and tools to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency.
- Analyse complex business needs presented by the user community and recommend technical solutions.
- Ensure that all systems follow industry standards and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in system administration and development.
- Provide technical support to internal stakeholders, including employees, managers, and executives.
- Mentor junior team members and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Monitoring ticket SLA’s, evaluating user satisfaction levels and making recommendations for improvement.
- Create, update and maintain policies that pertain to the department. Up to and including, End User Agreements, Mobile Device Management, Disaster Recover, Data Retention, etc.
- Use ITIL best practices for Incident, Problem, Asset, Project and Purchase Management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a System Administrator, with a focus on server management, virtualization, and security.
- 3+ years of experience in software development, with a strong knowledge of at least one programming language (e.g. Python, Java, PHP, etc.).
- Experience with VMWare, SAN’s, Microsoft AD DS, Azure, AWS, SQL Server, and Hybrid Exchange / MS Office 365 environment.
- Extensive knowledge of Linux/Unix systems, with experience in administration and automation.
