**Job Description**:

- Excellent understanding of the IBM Z architecture as well as of mainframe hardware configuration concepts including, but not limited to, HCD, IODF, IOCDS etc.
- Good knowledge of the mainframe hardware initialization process and fluency with handling the hardware management console
- Good knowledge of the channel subsystems, logical channel subsystems and subchannel set definitions
- Experience handling multiple LCSS’s and troubleshooting mainframe hardware & channel connectivity problems
- Working knowledge of LPAR configurations and configurations of the different kinds of IBM Z processor types - CP, IFL, zIIP, CF
- Experience handling parallel sysplex configurations and storage (DASD, tape) device configurations
- Good understanding of GDPS, disaster recovery, high availability, RPO / RTO and replication related technologies
- Experience designing and implementing mainframe hardware installs and new processor installs
