Seva Sadan is a 116-year-old non-profit organization based in Gamdevi, Mumbai. We are registered as a Trust and run by an elected Managing Committee who are working voluntarily. The services we offer include:
- A Residential Home for underprivileged girls (ages 8 to 18)
- Schools in Marathi and English medium
We run a Residential Home that accommodates 100 girls. They are provided lodging & boarding and are educated at our schools. The Society is responsible for the safety, well-being, and upbringing of the girls who are entrusted in the care of a team of five employees (which includes two matrons, an administrator, an assistant, and a social worker). **We are looking for a matron.**
**Responsibilities and Duties**
We look for a Live-in Matron (**LADY**) who is responsible for:
**Admissions**:
- Ensure that the admission procedures and criteria as laid down by the committee are being followed. This includes a social visit to the family and interview of the child and family.
**Administration**:
- Implement all Home rules, and update them periodically as required
- Maintain accurate and current records of the residents of the Home
- Weekly feedback to the Home Committee and Administrator on the running of the Home
**Discipline**:
- Maintenance of discipline and dress code
- Ensure punctuality of children and staff for various duties, school timings, tuitions and extra-curricular activities and functions.
- Ensure personal hygiene of the girls and cleanliness of the premises
- Teach the girls manners and other soft skills for acceptable social behaviour
**Education, Volunteer Tuition Programme, and Extra-Curricular Classes**:
- Interact and coordinate with school authorities regarding the children's academic progress and take necessary action if required.
- Oversee the volunteer program and its smooth functioning.
- Help plan a realistic time-table of school, tuition, enrichment classes, physical training, and games
- Organising the smooth functioning of Sports day and Founders day.
**Medicals and Nutrition**:
- Attention to be paid to the medical requirements of all girls by liaising with hospitals and visiting doctors and counselors.
- Ensure that balanced nutrition is provided as advised.
- Coordination with the kitchen, ensuring punctuality and efficiency of the duties of the kitchen staff
**Others**
- The matron is responsible for helping the residents to settle in the home by providing a sympathetic ear and providing pastoral support.
- Ensure the safety and security of the residents
- Parent / Guardian Interaction - needs to be maintained well
- Maintain records of donations in kind and utilize appropriately for the stated purpose
- Ensure that Alumni records are maintained in detail
**Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications**
- Graduate with at least 2 years of relevant experience
- The matron will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
- A warm and empathetic personality, tactful and be a good listener.
- A firm understanding of the need for confidentiality and discretion with regard to privileged information.
- Salary will commensurate with experience
.The candidiate will also be provided boarding and lodging.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
