We are a part of S&P Global's Markit Intelligence team that provides global pricing and reference data, indices and information services across multiple asset
classes. Customers throughout the financial services industry leverage our Information products and
services for independent valuations and to support research and analysis, risk management, regulatory
reporting and trading.

We provide financial pricing data and tools for bonds, CDS and loans, as well as fair value data, equity volatility data and securities lending data for stocks and bonds. Our service delivers detailed liquidity metrics and transparent information about pricing sources and methodologies, with flexible delivery options tailored to the needs of our clients.

Position summary

We are looking for a pragmatic advocate of Automated Testing who can partner with developers for automation test development. This role requires working closely with developers in an Agile/iterative SDLC model. This position will involve hands-on automation build/execution and as such strong experience in JAVA, Selenium, SQL, Maven, Jenkins is a must. Knowledge of Python is desirable but not mandatory.

Duties & accountabilities
- Self-managed individual who can actively build the automation BDD's and integration tests
- Experience in Test Automation Tool/Frameworks for example: Selenium WebDriver, SoapUI, JMeter, TestNG, Cucumber, Jenkins, Maven
- Proficient in Scripting: Windows/Unix
- Experience in implementing a Service Level Automation Framework
- Strong Database knowledge, able to write complex SQL Queries
- Good API testing Knowledge AND Good JAVA knowledge
- Design and write maintainable automated test scripts using Java, Maven, Jenkins, Cucumber/Gherkin, TestNg. Review the code quality/coverage using industry standard tools e.g. Sonar
- Look for ways to continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of automated testing practice.
- Ability to deliver on personal, team and strategic objectives

Business competencies

Education and experience

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
4-8 years of QA/testing experience in a software development organization, of which at least 3+ years must be hands-on automation using Java/ python
Demonstrable programming skills using JAVA, Selenium WebDriver, TestNg/Junit
Exposure to feature files and how to convert feature files to automation tests is highly desired.
Strong background in building Continuous Integration (Maven, Jenkins) based frameworks with knowledge of Build Verification Testing & TDD/BDD concepts (Cucumber)
Strong DB Testing experience is mandatory (Oracle/SQL Server). Must be able to automate DB testing with calculations processed in memory
Knowledge of Big Data tools/concepts (Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Scala) will be a strong advantage but not a mandatory requirement
Background in API testing is desirable
Exposure to Agile methodologies (Scrum/Sprint) is desirable

Commercial awareness

Motivation to acquire/increase knowledge of the financial sector is essential
An understanding of fixed income instruments is a plus but not mandatory
Understanding of Capital Markets, Fixed income, Credit derivatives, Bonds and other such asset classes is desirable but not mandatory.
