Job Description:
An online bidder, also known as a freelance bidder or business development executive, is responsible for acquiring new clients and projects through various online platforms and bidding websites. Their primary goal is to generate business opportunities and increase the company's revenue by winning bids and securing contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Identifying Potential Opportunities: Conduct research to identify potential clients, projects, and bidding opportunities that align with the company's expertise and services.
2. Proposal Preparation: Create compelling and comprehensive project proposals and bids, including project scope, timeline, budget, and deliverables. Tailor proposals to the specific requirements of each client.
3. Bidding on Projects: Actively participate in online bidding platforms and websites, such as Upwork, Freelancer, and Guru, to find relevant projects. Place competitive bids and negotiate contract terms with clients.
4. Client Communication: Engage in effective communication with clients to understand their project requirements, address queries, provide clarifications, and build professional relationships. Respond to client inquiries and maintain timely follow-ups.
5. Market Research: Stay updated with industry trends, market demands, and competitor analysis. Identify potential market niches and propose strategies to maximize business opportunities.
6. Collaboration with Teams: Collaborate with internal teams, such as project managers, designers, and developers, to ensure a smooth transition from project acquisition to project execution. Clearly communicate client requirements to the project teams.
7. Client Relationship Management: Maintain regular communication with existing clients, understand their ongoing requirements, and explore opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional services.
8. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all bidding activities, contracts, and client interactions. Generate periodic reports on bidding performance, revenue generated, and future prospects.
Qualifications:
1. Education: A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field is preferred. However, relevant experience and skills are often considered in lieu of formal education.
2. Experience: Proven experience as an online bidder, business development executive, or a similar role in the IT, software development, or digital marketing industry. Experience with online bidding platforms and websites is highly desirable.
3. Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to effectively interact with clients, write persuasive proposals, and negotiate contract terms.
4. Sales and Marketing Knowledge: A good understanding of sales and marketing principles, including lead generation, customer acquisition, and business development strategies.
5. Technical Aptitude: Familiarity with IT and software development concepts is beneficial, as it helps in understanding client requirements and effectively conveying them to the project teams.
6. Negotiation Skills: Ability to negotiate and close deals, including contract terms and pricing, while maintaining a win-win situation for both the client and the company.
7. Time Management: Effective time management skills to handle multiple bidding opportunities, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage follow-ups.
8. Result-Oriented: Self-motivated and driven to achieve and exceed targets. A proactive approach towards generating business opportunities and winning bids.
