Dispatch Supervisor

**Job Title: Dispatch / Logistics Supervisor**

**Department**: Logistics/Transportation
**Reports To**: Operations Manager

**Job Summary**:
The Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily dispatch operations, ensuring the efficient scheduling and coordination of drivers, vehicles, and deliveries. This role involves monitoring dispatch staff, optimizing routes, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining high customer service standards.

**Key Responsibilities:Dispatch Operations Management**:

- Supervise and coordinate the dispatch team to ensure timely and efficient scheduling of deliveries.
- Monitor driver schedules, routes, and workloads to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, and safety standards.
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and stakeholders to resolve delivery issues promptly.

**Team Leadership & Supervision**:

- Train, mentor, and oversee dispatch staff to maintain operational efficiency.
- Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive work environment and encourage teamwork among staff.

**Route & Fleet Optimization**:

- Utilize dispatch software and GPS tracking to optimize delivery routes.
- Analyze data to improve delivery efficiency and reduce fuel and operational costs.
- Address unexpected issues such as traffic delays, vehicle breakdowns, or staffing shortages.

**Customer Service & Communication**:

- Act as the primary point of contact for delivery inquiries and escalations.
- Maintain strong relationships with drivers, customers, and suppliers.
- Ensure customer expectations are met through proactive communication and issue resolution.

**Compliance & Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate dispatch records, driver logs, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) and other regulatory standards.
- Investigate and report any accidents, delays, or service failures.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business, or related field preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in dispatching, logistics, or transportation management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent problem-solving, multitasking, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of transportation laws and safety regulations.
