**Key roles and responsibilities**:
**Server & System Management**
- Harden systems as per Customer guidelines before production release.
- Upgrade server OS to latest recommended versions.
- Perform daily health checks (CPU, disk, logs, services); maintain a checklist.
- Provide monthly uptime and service call reports.
- Conduct health checks using Customer's tools.

**Incident & Change Management**
- Manage server incidents and perform root cause analysis.
- Coordinate patching, firmware updates, and service packs per SOPs and change process.
- Schedule and manage downtime for maintenance.

**User & Access Management**
- Manage user accounts, roles, access, passwords, and groups.
- Enforce password policies and remove/change default credentials.
- Maintain user access documentation and audit reports.

**Storage & Backup**
- Monitor and manage storage, shares, DAS, disk partitions.
- Ensure backup policies align with changes; troubleshoot disk/storage issues.
- Report on storage incidents and changes.

**Service Availability & Performance**
- Ensure services (DNS, DHCP, Mail, VPN, FTP, etc.) are up per SLA.
- Monitor performance; take action on non-performance.
- Run scripts for operational efficiency.

**Hardware & Vendor Coordination**
- Coordinate hardware break-fix and third-party vendor activities.

**Security & Compliance**
- Adhere to Customer’s security policies.
- Monitor and report account usage and violations.
- Implement system classification and quality access controls.

**Other Tasks**
- Coordinate new server/service setups.
- Manage print servers and resolve printing issues.
- Ensure orderly system start-up/shutdown.
