
Assistant Payroll Officer

As a Payroll Officer, you will make sure that payroll transactions are processed accurately for our organization. You will collaborate closely with HR and finance departments to ensure smooth payroll operations and compliance with relevant regulations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Process payroll data (e.g., new hires, terminations, changes) accurately and promptly.
- Verify attendance, hours worked, and pay adjustments, including overtime and bonuses.
- Calculate and process payroll deductions and withholdings.
- Issue statements detailing earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, and non-taxable wages.
- Ensure payroll transactions comply with company policies and regulations.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports as needed.
- Address employee payroll queries and concerns.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee records and resolve discrepancies.
- Stay updated on payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**:
- 2 to 4 years of experience as a Payroll Officer or similar role.
- Solid understanding of payroll fundamentals and best practices.
- Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field is preferred.
