**Key Responsibilities of Role**:

- **Sourcing Hydrant Materials and Equipment**:
If you have specific experience in purchasing fire hydrants, you could highlight any technical knowledge of the systems, including installation, testing, or troubleshooting, as these skills would be incredibly relevant for any fire safety-related procurement role.
- Manage the procurement process for **hydrants**, **piping**, and associated fire protection system components.
- Work with vendors and manufacturers of hydrants to ensure products meet safety and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant fire safety regulations (e.g., NFPA standards, local regulations).
- **Vendor Management and Negotiation**:

- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers of hydrants and fire safety equipment.
- Negotiate the best pricing and contract terms for hydrants, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
- **Cost Management**:

- Handle budgeting for hydrant procurement, balancing cost savings with high-quality fire protection equipment.
- Ensure that hydrants purchased align with project specifications and client needs while remaining within the allocated budget.
- **Documentation and Compliance**:

- Keep thorough records of hydrant purchase orders, delivery schedules, and supplier agreements.
- Ensure all hydrant purchases are compliant with internal and industry standards, including documentation for safety inspections and certifications.
- **Collaboration**:

- Coordinate closely with project teams, engineers, and warehouse staff to ensure timely delivery and installation of hydrants as part of the fire protection system.
- Help ensure inventory is kept up to date and there is sufficient stock of hydrants and related materials for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- **Quality Control and Testing**:

- Oversee the quality testing of hydrants and associated systems to ensure they meet performance standards before being shipped or used on-site.
- Liaise with quality assurance teams to ensure the products conform to fire safety standards and certifications.

**Qualifications and Skills Required**:
**Educational Background**:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Industry Knowledge:
A basic understanding of piping and pipeline systems is preferred.

Knowledge of pipeline fittings is a plus.

Technical Skills:
**Proficiency in Excel and Word is mandatory.**
- Familiarity with Tally is a plus.

Soft Skills:

- Strong negotiation skills to secure the best terms with suppliers.
- Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Team player who can collaborate effectively with colleagues and suppliers.
- Energetic and proactive attitude, capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
