Job Summary

Responsible for supervising structural fitting activities on oil & gas projects, ensuring that fabrication, assembly, and installation of steel structures are carried out according to project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

1. Supervision & Leadership

Manage and coordinate a team of structural fitters, riggers, and welders on site.

Allocate work based on project priorities and timelines.

Ensure adherence to offshore/onshore project schedules.

2. Technical & Project Oversight

Read and interpret complex oil & gas engineering drawings and fabrication schematics.

Supervise fitting, alignment, and assembly of structural components for platforms, jackets, modules, skids, and piping supports.

Ensure correct use of measuring and alignment tools.

3. Quality Control

Inspect work to confirm compliance with oil & gas project specifications and international standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, API).

Verify welding preparations, fit-up tolerances, and dimensional accuracy.

Coordinate with QC inspectors for approvals.

4. Safety & Compliance

Enforce strict adherence to oil & gas HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards.

Conduct toolbox talks, hazard identification, and safety briefings.

Ensure all personnel are trained in confined space, working at height, and offshore safety.

5. Resource & Material Management

Ensure availability of tools, equipment, and materials.

Maintain equipment in safe working condition.

Prevent material wastage and track consumption.

6. Coordination & Reporting

Liaise with construction managers, site engineers, and QA/QC teams.

Submit daily work progress and manpower utilization reports.

Report technical issues and recommend solutions.
Qualifications & Skills

Diploma/ITI in Mechanical/Structural/Marine Engineering (or equivalent).

Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in structural fitting, including offshore/onshore oil & gas projects.

Strong knowledge of fabrication and installation procedures for structural steel in oil & gas facilities.

Familiarity with safety regulations (HSE standards, PTW systems, offshore safety courses).

Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
