Our client is a global alternative asset manager, is seeking an AVP for their Legal department.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Oversee the Legal Billing and Reporting team and provide detailed regular reporting.
- Implement process improvements and documents processes.
- Analyze vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with the firm’s outside counsel manual.
- Work closely with the Accounts Payable team to ensure timely submission of invoices in the Company’s workflow system and coordinate with the Accounts Payable team to ensure a shared understanding of priorities and urgent matters.
- Review open items routinely and escalate issues for resolution and communicate internally to determine appropriate allocations.
- Corresponding with law firms to reconcile bills, making necessary adjustments and to educate the firms with respect to our billing practices.

**Role requirements**:

- 10+ years of experience in a legal billing capacity and must understand how law firms bill their clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment and as an individual contributor.
- Outstanding skills with Microsoft Excel.
- Desire and enthusiasm to adapt to the changing needs of the organization.
- Legal billing system experience, especially Passport, a plus.
