Job Role:
As a Chef de Partie specializing in Indian/Oriental/Chinese cuisine, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in your designated section of the kitchen. Working under the supervision of the Sous Chef or Executive Chef, you will ensure that high-quality and authentic Indian/Oriental/Chinese dishes are consistently delivered to exceed guest expectations. Your role will involve leading a team of commis chefs and demi chefs while collaborating with other kitchen staff to maintain smooth operations.
**Responsibilities**:
1. Food Preparation and Cooking:
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian/Oriental/Chinese dishes, ensuring authenticity, flavor, and quality are maintained.
- Follow standardized recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines to consistently deliver excellent dishes.
- Ensure that all ingredients are properly stored, handled, and rotated to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
- Monitor food quality during cooking, making adjustments as needed to achieve the desired taste, texture, and appearance.
2. Section Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of your designated kitchen section, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and timely.
- Train and mentor commis chefs and demi chefs, providing guidance on culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen procedures.
- Organize and prioritize tasks to ensure smooth workflow, coordinating with other sections and kitchen staff as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in your section, following proper food handling and hygiene practices.
3. Menu Development:
- Collaborate with the Sous Chef or Executive Chef to contribute ideas and suggestions for menu planning and development.
- Stay updated on current food trends, flavors, and presentation styles relevant to Indian/Oriental/Chinese cuisine.
- Participate in menu tastings and provide feedback on new dishes or menu items.
4. Quality Control and Presentation:
- Conduct regular taste tests and inspections to maintain consistent quality, flavor, and presentation standards.
- Ensure that all dishes leaving your section are visually appealing, properly garnished, and meet the required specifications.
- Implement portion control measures to minimize food wastage and maximize cost efficiency.
5. Kitchen Coordination:
- Work closely with other chefs and kitchen staff to coordinate orders, timing, and overall kitchen operations.
- Communicate effectively with the Sous Chef or Executive Chef regarding inventory, stock levels, and requisition needs.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as the service staff, to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of orders.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role, with specialization in Indian/Oriental/Chinese cuisine.
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in the specific cuisine, including cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and traditional dishes.
- Culinary diploma or degree from a recognized culinary institute is preferred.
- Strong leadership and teamwork abilities to effectively manage a kitchen section and collaborate with other chefs and staff.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high culinary standards.
- Thorough understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Creativity and a passion for culinary arts, with a desire to innovate and contribute to menu development.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Regular / Permanent
**Salary**: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
