QA / QC Engineer (Steel Industry)

**Position**: QA / QC Engineer

**Department**: NIFFT / Quality Assurance Department

**Experience Required**: 4‑5 years in steel / metal / foundry / forge / QA‑QC environment

**Key Responsibilities**:
Inspect raw materials (steel, alloys, etc.) to ensure they meet required specifications (chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensions).

Oversee production quality: monitor each stage (melting, casting, rolling / forging, heat treatment) to check for defects like cracks, inclusions, dimensional variances, surface defects.

Use non‑destructive testing (NDT) methods (e.g. ultrasonic, magnetic particle, dye penetrant) to detect flaws.

Maintain adherence to industry quality standards (e.g. IS, ASTM, ISO, etc.).

Coordinate with Maintenance / Production to rectify quality issues and prevent recurrence.

Prepare test reports, data logging, trend analysis; suggest improvements in processes.

Ensure calibration of measuring instruments and testing equipment..

**Required Skills / Qualifications**:
Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy / Mechanical / Materials Science / relevant engineering discipline.

Strong understanding of steel / metal processing and metallurgy.

Hands‐on experience with QA/QC tools, NDT techniques.

Ability to read technical drawings, use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, gauges, CMM etc.).

Good communication skills to liaise between production, suppliers, management.

Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO, etc.).

Analytical mindset, problem solving, attention to detail.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
