**Role Overview**

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Editor to join our team. This role combines hands-on editorial work with an eye for discovering new talent and shaping our publishing list. You will edit manuscripts across fiction and non-fiction, evaluate submissions and international titles for rights acquisition, and help identify and commission promising new authors.

**Key Responsibilities**

Editorial Work:

- Structural, line, and copy-editing of manuscripts to ensure quality, clarity, and readability.
- Working closely with authors to refine drafts while respecting their creative voice.
- Overseeing manuscripts from acquisition to final production in collaboration with design and production teams.

**Acquisition Reading & Evaluation**:

- Reviewing manuscripts and proposals submitted for rights acquisition.
- Preparing clear editorial reports and recommendations for the team.
- Staying updated on global publishing trends to spot potential opportunities for Indian readership.

**Author Development & Commissioning**:

- Scouting for emerging voices and fresh stories aligned with our publishing vision.
- Building relationships with agents, authors, and literary communities.
- Supporting the commissioning process by presenting promising projects and assisting in shaping proposals.

**Skills & Qualifications**
- Strong editorial skills with at least 1-2 years of relevant experience in publishing or literary editing.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- A keen eye for storytelling, pacing, and narrative structure.
- Ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with the Indian and global publishing landscape.
- Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for author care and collaboration.
