About the Role

What You Will Do
- Technical analysis and assessment of “Spaces” requirements
- Architectural work package breakdown, planning and steering of architectural works in the decentralized teams
- Architecture coordination meetings with project management
- Specification of SW architectural and functional requirements
- Definition of non-functional architectural quality requirements, Eg: Performance KPI, stability criteria and memory and CPU budgets for our products
- Analyze and understand product HW design documents such as block-diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, logic and timing diagrams, etc.
- Review and provide clarity for SW design documents such as System block diagrams, SW architecture and topology diagrams, timing and sequence diagrams, use-case charts, and detailed component specifications
- Understand vehicle systems and designs and how the Head Unit interacts with other Electronic Control Units in the vehicle
- Focus on system performance and optimizations throughout test and development cycles
- Coordinate with System Test teams to ensure design and requirements are verified and validated
- Lead Root Cause / Corrective Action process with product teams for issues that arise during development and test
- Facilitate knowledge management using tools such as MS Teams, confluence-wiki, and Jira
- Communicate with peers inside the Harman group to coordinate product development. This includes occasional travel for training or coordination with other groups.
- Manages small projects and technical resources, including planning, estimating and follow through

What You Need
- Bachelor’s in engineering, Masters preferred
- 10+ years of overall professional experience in embedded software development
- 5 to 6 years of experience with systems software experience
- Strong knowledge of Embedded Linux/QNX and Android OS
- Strong system level thinking, in design, development and debugging.
- Strong Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) experience and training
- Working knowledge of automotive infotainment systems and features
- Well organized, meticulous good at understanding the big picture.
- Strong team player with the ability to handle multiple projects
- Self-motivated, results-driven individual, passionate about technology.
- Fast learner with the ability to correctly process and summarize large amounts of information

What is Nice to Have
- Experience developing and debugging software in a real-time, embedded, multiprocessor, multi-interface environment
- Working knowledge of Virtualization, Computer Vision, Video, Graphics, SWDL, and Drivers, etc.
- Working knowledge of audio/video codecs and processing routines
- Working knowledge of navigation systems and concepts such as GPS, dead-reckoning, etc.
- Working knowledge of User Device connectivity protocols such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi-direct, NFC, etc.
- Working knowledge of Vector-CAN architecture and layering
- Working knowledge of thermal/mechanical/EMC/reliability design concerns and test considerations
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to refocus and reprioritize tasks to meet the demands of the product development cycle
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills
- Creative problem-solver capable of creating and reproducing complex software defects
- Strong project management and time management skills
