Job Description for Phlebotomist:
Identify patients and their personal information using their ID, documents or other means
Assessing patient needs, reviewing patient history, and determining the reason(s) for drawing blood
Find veins that are suitable for puncture and determine the right venipuncture method based on patient age, health etc.
Ability to successfully draw blood from patients with mínimal or no complications using sterilized needles, vials and other equipment
Ensure optimal quality and quantity of samples
Preparing specimens for transportation, including labeling vials accurately and matching blood specimens to patients and deliver them for testing
Answer patient questions and provide useful information
Adhere to all relevant health and safety standards while working
Must be willing to visit the patient (s) at their home for blood collection.
**Experience**:
Min 2 yrs of proven experience as a Phlebotomist or Phlebotomy Technician
Phlebotomist Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma
Phlebotomist certification (diploma in phlebotomy and have knowledge of puncture techniques)
Adept at venipuncture, phlebotomy, and finger sticks
Ability to draw blood from infants and elderly people
Excellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills
**Experience - 2 to 5 years**
