Production - Machine Shop Incharge

**Job Summary**:
The Machine Shop Incharge is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the machine shop. This role involves managing personnel, ensuring the maintenance of equipment, monitoring production schedules, and ensuring that all work is carried out efficiently and safely in accordance with company policies and standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Supervision and Leadership**:

- Lead and supervise machine shop personnel, including machinists, technicians, and support staff.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide guidance and training as necessary.
- Foster a safe and productive work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- **Production Management**:

- Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily production schedules to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Ensure optimal utilization of machines, tools, and manpower to maximize efficiency.
- Coordinate with the production planning department to align machine shop activities with overall production plans.
- **Quality Control**:

- Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure that all products meet required specifications and standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of work-in-progress and finished products to identify and address any quality issues.
- **Equipment Maintenance**:

- Ensure that all machinery and equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs and troubleshooting.
- **Inventory and Resource Management**:

- Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials, tools, and consumables to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Place orders for supplies and materials as needed, in coordination with the purchasing department.
- **Continuous Improvement**:

- Identify areas for improvement in processes, workflows, and equipment usage.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement among the team.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of production activities, machine usage, and maintenance.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on shop performance, including production output, downtime, and quality metrics.
- **Compliance and Safety**:

- Ensure that all operations comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and ensure that all employees are trained on proper safety procedures.
- Investigate and report any accidents or incidents within the shop.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- **Experience**:

- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a machine shop environment, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, CNC programming, and machine operation.
- Experience in quality control and maintenance of machining equipment.
- **Skills**:

- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a machine shop environment.

**Work Environment**:

- The role requires frequent interaction with machine shop personnel and occasional interaction with other departments.
- The work environment may involve exposure to noise, fumes, and machinery typical of a machine shop.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From ₹40,000.00 per month

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Morning shift
