The Purchase Assistant will support the procurement team in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing raw materials, fabrics, trims, accessories, and other required supplies for the readymade garment production. The role involves vendor coordination, purchase order management, inventory tracking, and ensuring cost-effective procurement while maintaining quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Procurement & Vendor Management**:

- Assist in identifying and onboarding reliable suppliers for fabrics, trims, and accessories.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate with vendors to ensure competitive rates.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and explore new vendor options.
- **Purchase Order Management**:

- Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) in line with company requirements.
- Track order confirmations, delivery schedules, and follow up to ensure timely supply.
- Maintain accurate records of all purchase transactions.
- **Quality & Compliance**:

- Ensure that all materials and products meet company quality standards before procurement.
- Coordinate with the quality control team to verify material specifications and compliance.
- Handle claims or disputes regarding defective or non-compliant materials.
- **Inventory & Cost Control**:

- Monitor stock levels and raise purchase requests based on production needs.
- Assist in budgeting and cost control by keeping track of procurement expenses.
- Help in minimizing excess inventory and ensuring optimal stock levels.
- **Documentation & Reporting**:

- Maintain supplier databases, price lists, and purchase records for reference.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, market trends, and cost analyses.
- Assist in preparing MIS reports for management review.
- **Coordination with Internal Teams**:

- Work closely with the production, design, and accounts teams to align procurement with business requirements.
- Assist in resolving supply chain issues affecting production schedules.

**Job SpecificationEducation & Experience**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Textile Technology, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain roles, preferably in the garments or têxtile industry.
- Freshers with a strong academic background and internship experience in purchasing may also be considered.

**Skills & Competencies**:

- Knowledge of fabrics, trims, and accessories used in garment manufacturing.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and purchase management tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of GST, taxation, and import/export procedures is a plus.

**Work Environment**:

- Office-based with occasional visits to suppliers, mills, or warehouses.
- May require travel for vendor meetings and material inspections.
