**Data Entry Clerk Job Duties**
- Enter names, addresses, figures, dates and other data and information into word processors, spreadsheets and data bases.
- Scan or review incoming data to verify accuracy and lack of conflicts with other reported data or information.
- Create computer folders, sub-folders, directories and sub-directories to store files.

**Job Essential Skills**
- **Computer**. Data clerks must be proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and database software. Knowledge of basic excel.
- **Detail-oriented.** Paying attention to details includes double-checking or proofreading entries. Certain data may involve a long string of numbers, letters or codes.
- Ethical. The data clerk receives access to confidential or sensitive information. With control of computers and data, data entry clerks should avoid the temptation to enter false data or alter information.
- Reading. Entering data accurately requires the clerk to be able to read, locate and understand data from source documents.
- Data Entry Clerk Skills and Qualifications:
Organization, Typing, Data Entry Skills, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, Thoroughness, Decision Making, Analyzing Information, Results Driven, Energy Level.
