Emergency Department Certified Coder
- As an Emergency Department Coder, you will be responsible for accurately assigning

medical codes to emergency department records. You will play a crucial role in

ensuring that coding procedures comply with regulatory requirements and facilitate

proper reimbursement for services rendered. Your expertise will contribute to the

efficient operation of our healthcare facility and the delivery of high-quality patient

care.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes to emergency department

records under established coding guidelines and regulations.
- Review medical documentation to accurately capture diagnoses, procedures, and

services provided during emergency department visits.
- Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and integrity of coded data to support billing

and reimbursement processes.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other medical staff to resolve coding

discrepancies and clarify documentation as needed.
- Stay informed about changes in coding guidelines, regulations, and compliance

requirements to maintain proficiency and accuracy in coding practices.
- Participate in coding audits and quality assurance initiatives to assess coding

accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in handling sensitive patient

information.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical coding, with a focus on emergency

department coding.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is required.
- Proficiency in assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for emergency

department services.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease

processes.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate

effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to maintaining compliance with coding guidelines, regulations, and

ethical standards.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and prioritize workload to

meet deadlines.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
