**Your next career move**
- Configure, Install and proactively maintain database servers to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Constantly monitor performance, capacity and security of database servers.
- Perform database upgrades, replication and migration procedures.
- Perform and plan database backups and recoveries.
- Collaborate with the Release Team in managing clients master database schemas.
- Troubleshoot database related errors.
- Analyze queries, indexing, and data characteristics and suggest tuning and performance enhancements using advanced SQL Server capabilities such as Columnstore indexes, in-memory optimized tables, partitioning, and others.
- Collaborate with System Engineers to ensure proper database security.
- Collaborate with Software Architects to ensure proper database design, integrity and ongoing performance.
- Develop, administer and maintain policies and procedures for ensuring healthy and highly performant database environments.
- Ensure database servers hardware is adequately sized and configured; conduct capacity planning scenarios to meet future needs.
- Meet critical project deadlines, doing whatever it takes.
- Act as a technical resource to the Systems Engineers during other non-database related projects.
- Provide first-level support to internal staff members and clients as required.

**Does this sound like you?**
- Must have strong experience of installing, configuring and supporting Microsoft technologies, including Windows server (2008 and above) operating systems, SQL Server (2008 and above) and SQL Server Services (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS).
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server Database performance tuning, backup, recovery and storage management.
- Practical Knowledge of Database replication and migration strategies.
- Must have working experience with SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Profiler and other DBA related tools.
- Must be proficient in SQL (T-SQL) language and procedures.
- Must have ERD experience.
- Experience building and supporting high availability database environments will be considered an asset.
- Data warehouse experience, including design, implementation, ETL, validation, and integration with other systems will be considered an asset.
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of working experience as Database Administrator or System Engineer.
- University degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an acceptable combination of related technical education with work experience.
- DBA certification or at least 2 years of proven Database Administration experience.
- Proven prior work experience managing large and complex databases and its related environments.
- Superior time management and prioritization skills including the ability to multi-task.
- Superior customer service skills providing prompt and courteous support.
- Self-starter that can work in an agile environment with little oversight and direction.
- Flexibility to work overtime, sometimes unscheduled, to support maintenance and project workload
- Pride and craftsmanship in the work that you do.
