- 12th Pass + GNM Course
- 12th Pass + B.Sc. (Nursing)/ PBBSc
- Certification in BLS ACLS preferred

EXPERIENCE:

- 5 - 10 years of clinical experience in emergency care in corporate or tertiary hospital

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- To report duty on time in uniform.
- To ensure proper handover takeover during the shift changes.
- To Makes duty roster and make entry in the system.
- Maintains discipline among the personnel working in the EMD including staff nurse, students, HK staff.
- To make assignments of nurses for patient care.
- Makes leave planning for staffs.
- Maintain confidential report of the staffs in performance register & nurses daily performance evaluation sheet to be maintained
- Ensure proper admission, transfer and discharge of patients.
- Ensure safety, comfort and good personal hygiene of all patients in the department.
- Ensure the compliance of all infection prevention & control protocol & policies at EMD.
- Ensure safe and clean environment for the EMD.
- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, clinical pathways, and benchmarks
- Oversee day -to-day operations of emergency dept
- Indenting of medical supplies and equipment’s & medications and keep records & ensure availability of the same & Monitor stock levels of emergency medications consumables & equipment.
- Check patients medicine & treatment whether it is done or not if not ask the staff to do it.
- Ensure proper indents for patients, raised by nursing staff accurately.
- Check EMD stock. Check crash cart
- inventory & when used for patients ensure replenishment of medications done timely, maintain the registers.
- To Make list of condemnation of articles and submits it to all the concerned.
- Any breakdown biomedical equipment’s such as ventilators syringe pump & maintenance issues shall be reported immediately for urgent necessary action & coordinate with procurement & biomedical teams for timely replenishment & maintenance.
- Ensure the EMD is always prepared for mass casualties or disasters
- Ensure quick triage & prioritization of emergency cases.
- Assist in critical or complex patient cases as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records, departmental logs, important registers like admission, linen & communication & incident reports.
- Acts as liaison officer in EMD and nursing administration.
- Maintain good public relations at EMD.
- Deals appropriately with any adverse situations that occurs in the EMD and report it to concern authorities. & immediate superior.
- Incident reporting as and when required.
- Ensure the documentation compliance of the patient’s record as per protocol.
- Ensure implementation of any new protocol made by the management time to time
- Train new staffs & assists in conducting various evaluation for staffs.
- Ensure staff is attending regular trainings.
- Send written communications about short coming / misbehavior of any staff / Class IV attached under her.
- Supervise ambulance dispatch in response of emergency calls.
- Ensure a smooth transition of care when patient arrived from the ambulance to the EMD.
- Ensure all staffs are certified BLS /ACLs & trained for patient handling.
- Ensure every ambulance is well equipped with emergency drugs, oxygens, defibrillators, stretchers, splints etc & maintain documentation.
- Ensure daily check for equipment functionality & consumable availability. & maintain stock level at any given point of time.
- Perform audit.
- Ensure infection prevention & control protocols are followed after every patient transport especially for infectious cases.
- Track & report ambulance usage data, response times, patient outcomes, and staff performance. & analyze data to improve response efficiency & patient safety.
- Any policy decision taken by the management have to be communicated to the entire EMD staff.
- Any other work/responsibility assigned by the HOD/Management in the course of business/work whether within the same unit/dept or any other unit/dept from time to time.
