**Position Title**: Staff Nurse - NICU
**Department**: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
**Reports To**: NICU In-Charge / Nursing Superintendent
**Location**: Vedansh Super speciality Hospital Dadri
**1. Job Summary**
The **NICU Staff Nurse** provides specialized nursing care to **newborn infants** who are premature, critically ill, or require intensive observation. The role includes monitoring vital signs, administering medications, assisting doctors in neonatal procedures, and ensuring a safe, supportive environment for newborns and their families.
**2. Qualifications & Experience**
- **Education**: GNM / B.Sc Nursing (Registered with State Nursing Council)
- **Experience**: 1-3 years in NICU / Pediatric ICU preferred
- **Certification**: NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) / BLS preferred
**3. Key Roles & Responsibilities**
- Provide **comprehensive nursing care** to neonates requiring intensive or intermediate care.
- Monitor **vital signs** (heart rate, temperature, respiration, oxygen saturation) and report abnormalities promptly.
- Assist in **resuscitation** and **emergency procedures** for newborns.
- Administer **IV fluids, medications, and nutrition** as per medical orders.
- Ensure **aseptic technique** and strict **infection control** in the NICU.
- Assist neonatologists and pediatricians during **procedures** (intubation, umbilical line insertion, etc.).
- Maintain and operate **NICU equipment** (incubators, warmers, ventilators, infusion pumps, monitors).
- Accurately **document** nursing care, medication records, and daily progress notes.
- Educate and support **parents** on newborn care, feeding, and hygiene.
- Participate in **handover reports** and coordinate with other healthcare professionals.
- Handle **emergencies** with composure and efficiency.
- Maintain **cleanliness, orderliness, and readiness** of the NICU at all times.
- Follow hospital **policies, safety, and confidentiality** guidelines.

**6. Salary**
- As per hospital norms and experience level
