**Jr Scientist Precision Genomics**

**Position Purpose -**

This position involves performing molecular assays through techniques such as DNA extraction, and PCR assays on a high throughput genotyping platform

**Tasks & Responsibilities -**
- Work with a group of associates & ensure smooth running of molecular assays such as Sample receival, DNA extraction, PCR assays with liquid handling systems on a high throughput genotyping platform
- Coordinate with internal team members such as system reliability and on-time sample processing for a seamless delivery of data to end users
- Ensure necessary inventory and other consumables required for efficient running of the lab are updated and procured
- Identify & plan process improvement opportunities, ensure associated SOPs, Method & Reports are prepared, and IP captured
- Effectively direct the lab technicians who are recruited to assist with specific tasks in the lab on a day to day basis
- Adopt & follow company safety policies, protocols, and procedures, and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Demonstrate ability and willingness to learn and carry out diverse activities in modern genomics techniques
- Manage time to complete the all the activities as per the plan and actual schedule to be able to adhere to necessary KPIs

**Qualification -**
- Master’s degree in Agricultural Science, Biological Science, Plant Breeding or related field with 1-2 years experience in plant biotechnology/genomics/marker-assisted breeding
- Experience of working in an industrial high through put genotyping or molecular testing laboratory is preferred

**Competencies**
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex data and documents and communicate to diverse audience
- Demonstrated ability to work with software’s such as MS office and genotyping and mol breeding related tools
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, both within the research setting and across functions.
- Ability to take up responsibility in meeting deadlines and making progress without direct supervision
