**The Role**:
**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
The IAM Solution Architect is to define new IAM solutions and support the expansion and improvement of existing solutions. In addition, the role requires contribution to the development and maintenance of the IAM Production Services and associated technology roadmaps. The architect advises on how to best leverage and take full advantage of new solutions to realize value within the Shell businesses. Most solutions are applicable to entire Shell Enterprise.

The IAM Solution Architect needs to collaborate with Suppliers and Shell staff to define IAM solutions and associated architectures to meet Shell business requirements. They need to review and select appropriate industry standards and when necessary, define Shell standards, reference architectures and practices to guide the implementation and maximum utilization of the solutions.

**Where You Fit In**

The IAM Architect is accountable for supporting the IAM Segment Architect in defining the current and target architecture and standards for IAM Solutions that are typically offered as services: Identity Management, Authentication(MFA,ID Proofing, Mobile app, integrations), Federation, Identity Governance and Administration, Access Control, Governance Risk and Compliance. This is done in consultation with Shell Architects supporting other segments, Information Risk Analysts, L&R Compliance Analysts, Industry Standards Bodies and Consultants, as well as software and service suppliers.

The IAM Solution Architect provides guidance to other Reference and Solution architects on standards, deployment patterns and maintains the domain-specific architecture roadmaps.

The IAM Solution Architect supports the definition of the Shell Target Operating Environment reference architectures for IAM.

The IAM Solution Architect works closely with assigned supplier architect(s) and key Shell SME’s and stakeholders to determine potential use of new technologies and solutions for Shell within this area.

The IAM Solution Architect steers the technical aspect of projects, assisting in product selection, consolidating services, consulting on usage of IAM solutions and retiring the legacy.

The IAM Solution Architect is responsible for generating and maintaining Technical Architecture Roadmaps for their areas of responsibility.

**What is the Role?**

**Support the IAM Lead Segment Architect in**:

- Collaborating with portfolio management, strategy and planning, supplier architects / service managers, supplier delivery, business IT architects, product managers from key technology and product providers to develop fully coordinated integrated strategic and tactical IAM platform plans.
- Providing domain specific input into the 5-year Portfolio and 3-year TOE and the 1-year tactical platform plans.
- Providing the domain specific review and input into the Enterprise architecture roadmaps.
- Ensuring stakeholder management and governance of strategic and tactical technology plans.
- Scan the market and develop, publish and present technology trend and strategy briefings for ITSO and business IT leadership.
- Proposing, initiating and managing proof-of-concepts and system technical changes.
- Reviewing IT projects for compliance with technology standards.
- Gathering planning inputs from benchmarking and service operations and factoring these into architecture plans and roadmaps.
- Recommending continuous service improvements based on best practices from inside and outside the organization in technology, process, management and tools, including benchmarking findings.

Budget: Indirect budget accountability: Responsible for the Shell group IT infrastructure IAM architecture with total in-scope spend of ~$25 Million

**Special Challenges**:
Defining and implementing the IAM Solutions that support the vision and strategy underlying the IAM Reference architecture. Implementation and adoption of services across the enterprise are the desired outcome and define success.

Develop and maintain several components of the landscaping (target / roadmap) IAM Architecture for the whole of Shell.
Working closely with portfolio, suppliers, partners, supplier delivery, IRM, LOI/FE and others to ensure Reference architecture and roadmaps and plans account for business requirements and can be applied effectively.

Building and maintaining a collaborative relationship with Business Application Segment Architects, Supplier architects, operations, IRM, GRA SMEs, and Shell ITSO and Enterprise architects to ensure Reference architecture and roadmaps and plans account for business requirements and can be applied effectively.

**What We Need from You?**
- Minimum 8 to 12 years in IT industry focused on IAM technologies in medium to large enterprises or government sector
- Aware of Architecture and Business Analysis frameworks, principles, policies, standards and governance processes (or related like TOGAF) - preferab
