**Responsibilities**:

- **Customer Service**:

- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist customers with inquiries, provide information about products or services.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns, escalating to a supervisor if necessary.
- **Cash Handling**:

- Process sales transactions using cash registers or electronic systems.
- Accurately handle cash, checks, credit cards, and other payment methods.
- Provide correct change and receipts to customers.
- **Order Processing**:

- Scan or manually enter product information.
- Bag or package items for customers.
- **Balancing and Reconciliation**:

- Reconcile cash drawer at the end of each shift.
- Identify discrepancies and report them to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate transaction records.
- **Security**:

- Follow security procedures to prevent theft or fraudulent activities.
- Monitor surveillance systems if applicable.
- Adhere to company policies on cash handling and transactions.
- **Product Knowledge**:

- Stay informed about products, prices, and promotions.
- Assist customers in locating items within the store.
- **Communication**:

- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Collaborate with other staff members to resolve issues.
- **Maintaining Cleanliness**:

- Keep the cashier area clean and organized.
- Ensure the checkout area is well-stocked with bags, receipt paper, and other necessary supplies.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
- Knowledge of POS (Point of Sale) systems or cash registers.
- Time management skills for handling transactions efficiently.
- Honesty and integrity in handling money and sensitive information.
