**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Experience with PostgreSql 9.3 and Oracle 10g/11g/12c OEM.
- Oracle RDBMS installation, configuration and maintenance activities on latest versions (10g, 11g, 12c on different platforms).
- Install, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL & MySQL software, implement monitoring and alerting, implement backup and recovery processes, provide system and SQL performance tuning and assist in business process integration with various data sources.
- Hands on experience on PostgreSQL setup and HA(High availability) is preferable.
- Migrations from Oracle to PostgreSQL knowledge is plus.
- In depth knowledge of Data Guard etc.
- Understanding of Oracle's Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA).
- Develop and implementing best practices for DR and Backups
- Defining and implementing maintenance plan for the database systems
- Good performance tuning skills.(posgtres and oracle)
- Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve live database systems issues.
- Hands-on experience on database administration, backup recovery and troubleshooting
- Good knowledge on UNIX, Linux
- Integration of DB monitoring and escalation into existing IT monitoring and actionable events solutions as per ITIL process.
- Good in Database upgrade and Migration activity
- Verify all instances are up & working
- Look into new alert log entries and checking for any errors
- Check table space usage
- Checking if there is enough disk space for the data files and archive filesystem to grow
- Monitoring temporary segments usage
- Checking session locks and resolve the issue.
- Monitoring overall Database health & performance tuning.
- Restore and recoveries
- Data guard setup and Maintenance/Troubleshooting activity
