- Job Description:

- 4+ years of experience in administration of Red Hat Linux, IBM AIX

Skills and Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or equivalent major)
- 4-6 yrs of Admin experience in Redhat Linux, AIX
- Strong troubleshooting skills in Linux and AIX
- Scripting skills Pearl, Bash, Python.
- Hands on experience with Hypervisors
- RHV & KVM.
- Performance tuning, Vendor coordination
- Communication Skills and ability to ask questions
- General communication and analytical skills (non-technical).

Job Responsibilities:

- Monitoring the servers proactively.
- Creating filesystems.
- Installing the software required on the servers.
- Working on server patching through Ansible and Satellite.
- Troubleshooting of Unix and Linux servers.
- Performance Tuning.
- Strong proficiency in administration of Linux servers to maintain a 24x7x365 uptime service.
- Perform installations/patching of operating system, software installation, and system backups - data recovery.
- Familiarity with fundamental storage & Back Up technologies (SAN, NAS, Commvault), Virtualization technologies like VMWare, vSphere, Vcenter servers and clusters
- Understanding and working, configuration knowledge of common networking protocols and services including TCP, UDP, DNS, NFS, DHCP, HTTP, SSH, FTP, SNMP, SMTP, LDAP, SAMBA, VS-FTP, NIS, Mail Server, iptables, ISCSI and CIFS, GPFS
- Knowledge on LPAR/HACMP & Knowledge of LAN / WAN technologies
- Hands on experience with Hypervisors
- RHV & KVM.
- Recovery of Operating system from snapshot
- Performance tuning, Vendor coordination
- Working knowledge of Patch Management
- Fault finding, analysis and of logging information for reporting of performance exceptions
- Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning
- Ensure High Availability & Performance of Production Servers and services adhering to agreed SLA
- Deployments on Linux Server and Databases
- Scripting skills Pearl, Bash, Python.
- Incident, Problem, Change Management based on Ticketing System (ServiceNow, Remedy etc.)
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Additional Linux certifications (RHCSE, RHCSA) will be considered an advantage
