DXC Storage Support Services for PayPal

Key Responsibilities:
Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Unix/Linux systems to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Assist in the administration and support of storage solutions, including SAN and NAS environments in a hybrid environment.
Perform routine system and storage maintenance tasks, such as patching, updates, and data protection.
Help team deploy Oracle Exadata Appliances for our transactional processing DB’s.
Complete pre-work and post-work for all Exadata builds.
Collaborate with senior engineers to implement and document best practices for system and storage management.
Participate in on-call rotations to provide after-hours support as needed.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of automation scripts and tools to streamline system and storage operations.
Assist in the planning and execution of system and storage upgrades and migrations.
Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures and assist in the implementation of security measures.
Provide technical support to end-users and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system and storage configurations and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
3-5 years of experience working with Unix/Linux systems and/or block, file, or object storage solutions.
Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems, including Red Hat, Ubuntu, or similar distributions.
Experience with storage technologies such as SAN, NAS, and RAID configurations.
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash and Python.
Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and provide after-hours support.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or KVM.
Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
Familiarity with cloud storage solutions and platforms.
Certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, or equivalent.
Experience with Oracle or other relational DBs is a plus
Experience with Netapp AFF/FAS systems and ONTAP.
Experience with Hitachi VSP-series storage system and OpsCenter.
Working knowledge on Cohesity, Infinidat, Pure, Object Storage/MinIO and GCP is a plus
