Job Description Summary: As a Data Scientist 1 in the Resolutions & Protections team, you will be responsible for building and refining data-driven strategies to improve dispute resolution processes and minimize financial losses for PayPal and its customers. You will work on complex datasets to uncover actionable insights and collaborate across teams to deliver impactful solutions.

As a member of the Resolutions team, you’ll play a key role in PayPal margin improvement through Loss and Opex reduction.

As a Data Scientist, you will,
- Extract and process structured/unstructured data using SQL, Python, or similar tools.
- Collaborate with operations teams to gather feedback on dispute resolution processes and improve process efficiency
- Develop and validate hypotheses to optimize PayPal's operational costs while enhancing consumer and merchant experiences.
- Work with partner teams such as Modelling, Product and Engineering
- Support ad hoc analysis requests from stakeholders related to dispute trends or risk mitigation.

**Job Requirement**:**4+ years in Analytics, Data Science or similar roles
- Experience with data preparation and analysis of large datasets in SQL and Microsoft Excel
- Passionate about generating insights from data to solve business problems
- Knowledge of any data and visualisation tools like Python, Tableau
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Background in fraud, credit, risk management or statistics is a plus

**Education Qualifications**:
(Must Have) Bachelors or master’s in Engineering/ Finance/ Mathematics/ Statistics/Economics from Tier I colleges
