R&d Technician

**Key Responsibilities**:
- Assist in developing new garment designs and prototypes.
- They should also know about cutting, so if a garment has any specific placement, they should cut it accordingly.
- They should also know about computer embroidery, specifically how many inches the embroidery will cover.
- They should also know which needle to use for which fabric and which attachments are needed according to the construction.
- They should also know what trims are being used in the garment and how many are needed.
- They should have knowledge of how to reduce the average cost of the garment.
- Conduct fabric and material research and testing.
- Oversee sample making and ensure quality standards are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless production.
- Maintain documentation of R&D activities and report progress.
**Qualifications**:
- Degree or diploma in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, or related field.
- 10- 12 years of experience in garment or têxtile R&D.
- Knowledge of garment construction, fabric types, and têxtile testing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
