Functional Competencies:_**
- He must have exposure and knowledge of** **pumps, valves, bearings, conveyer belt, gear boxes, lubricant used in bearing and pump, gear box, vacuum pumps, alignment setting, compressors & components and its maintenance, reasons for bearing failure etc
- He must have knowledge of preventive maintenance, benefits of preventive maintenance and various types of predictive maintenance methodologies
- Exposure and knowledge of Multiple Effect Evaporator (MEE) preferable.

JOB DESCRIPTION_**

JOB OBJECTIVE_**
- :_
- To carry out mechanical maintenance to MEE plant, keeping equipment running at optimum efficiency with minimum costs. Undertake maintenance that minimizes downtime & follow up to prevent reoccurrence._

**1**

**Planned maintenance**
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using careful measuring and testing instruments
- report using CMMS package (SAP)
- Carry out follow up work (visual and PM checks) as scheduled on CMMS (SAP)
- Carry out lubrication to plant as schedule
- Carry out routine adjustments to prolong equipment life
- Fabricates (welding) repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and inventories, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing work order in SAP.
- Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance
- Carry out predictive maintenance activities like vibration monitoring etc on moving mechanical parts like gearboxes, bearings etc

**Breakdown maintenance**
- Attend all breakdowns and undertake repairs as required. Trouble shooting should be fast and effective
- Feedback to AM (maintenance) for any follow-up required and help in identification of the root cause of the problems
- Maintains equipment, parts, and inventories, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing work order in SAP.
- Recommend materials to be absorbed in stores inventory.
- Check quality of delivered mechanical spares required to complete maintenance in time
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

**Engineering Improvements**
- Propose improvements to increase efficiencies/ improve safety standards
- Carry out approved improvements Be part of start-up teams in engineering projects as required

**4**

**Safety**
- Undertake all maintenance tasks safely with appropriate PPE & procedures
- Adhere to safe working practices such as working at height regulations like all equipment / motor covers are fitted securely
- Ensure equipment is correctly isolated (LOTO procedures) when maintenance is carried out
- All floors are kept dry to minimize slips
- Identify & report any unsafe working conditions/ machine faults
- Propose plant improvements in terms of safety and carry out the same once approved
- Carry out regular safety inspections of working areas
- Complete tools reconciliation in shift
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations

**General Maintenance**
- Keep workshop tidy & ready for maintenance repairs
- Assist with electrical tasks as required.
- Perform any other reasonable work related tasks as instructed by Engineering Executive.
- Ensuring workability of all kinds of tools including portable tools
