**The Opportunity**

Arup Façades is an enthusiastic, dedicated and energetic, multi-disciplinary team of façade designers and engineers. We are a leading consultancy in our space both locally and internationally and our team includes engineers, technical specialists, building physicists and architects, all of whom share a passionate interest in cladding design. Our creativity and technical expertise allow us to take on ambitious projects that few companies can deliver.

**Responsibilities**

You will be responsible for developing excellent facade solutions and see these through from concept to implementation. It will include scrutinising detailed designs generated by specialist façade contractors. You will undertake design work yourself, using your knowledge and experience to support other team members.

You will work directly with our clients, architects, contractors and façade industry suppliers, producing designs, assessments, calculations, drawings, reports and correspondence. You will request and review building physics calculations (thermal assessments, solar analyses, condensation risk assessments and daylighting analyses etc) as well as undertaking site, factory & testing visits and writing clear concise reports. You will undertake failure investigation studies and provide clear reports.

You will work with multi-disciplinary teams and work on several projects running in parallel and attend meetings and communicate with clients and design disciplines. You will receive support from our senior team members as well as any training required to develop your knowledge and skills.

**Requirements**:

- A recognised relevant qualifications in Engineering or Architecture Degree or similar area.
- Minimum 3-4 years of relevant industry experience in building, façade and sustainability design within a consulting business environment.
- In-depth technical and design skills related to building envelope design and detailing.
- Ability to maintain personal effectiveness particularly during periods of higher than normal workload and the ability to communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments;
- Ability to develop and maintain successful client relationships.
- Experience in delivering projects to BIM standards with relevant QA processes
- Experience in Life Cycle Assessment and Carbon calculation will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of Dynamo, Rhino Inside, Grasshopper, Unity and point cloud technology & plugins is highly beneficial
