**About The Ken**:

- The Ken_ is India’s first and largest subscriptions-based media company. Established in October 2016, we publish deeply reported, analytical, and well-narrated stories every day—across formats such as longform features, newsletters, and podcasts. Our subscriber community, the majority of whom are in India, comprise innovative and successful entrepreneurs and senior executives; venture capitalists; policy makers; MBA students; and dozens of companies.

**About the role**:
We are looking for a talented and ambitious intern for our Newsletters Desk who will work with our writers and editors on the publication of our entire line-up of premium and free newsletters. With hundreds of thousands of readers and counting, _The Ken_’s newsletters are as important a part of our offering to subscribers as our longform features, podcasts, or infographics.

Internships at _The Ken_ aren’t quite like anywhere else.

There is no make-work.

There is no rote work.

We don’t believe in the prosaic.

As an intern on the Newsletters Desk, you will find that everything you do _matters_—real work, real responsibilities, your mark on everything that crosses your desk. It’s why all our internships are paid, full-time positions.

You will find that you are in our sunlight-filled, spacious office in Bengaluru because that’s where the _action_ is. It’s where your team is. It’s where the brainstorming happens. It’s where you can make the biggest impact on the newsletters we publish.

And most importantly, you will find that every internship is an audition for a permanent role in our growing team. We’d be happiest if, at the end of your three-month internship, or perhaps even during the course of it, we could welcome you into the fold as a full-fledged employee of _The Ken_. In fact, some of our most important roles across teams are performed by people who started as interns.

In short, if you’ve just graduated college in the last year or two, an internship is _the best way_ to make it into our permanent roster.

As an intern on our Newsletters Desk, you will:
Edit and rewrite drafts to ensure they meet our high standards for language, clarity, and narrative chops, including issues of our most popular properties such as _The Nutgraf_, _Long and Short_, _Trade Tricks,_ and _First Principles_.

Work with our editors and writers on the conceptualisation and launch of all new newsletter projects and features.

Get the opportunity to learn storytelling from some of the best business journalists in the country.

This is an editorial role on the Newsletters Desk, which makes a strong, comfortable grasp of the English language a prerequisite—in both its formal and casual forms.

Thus, the interview and assessment process, for the most part, will test whether your English proficiency meets our high, uncompromising standards.

And finally, since we are a business journalism and subscription organisation, an active interest in those areas will be an advantage.

As an intern, you will be paid INR 30,000 per month for the duration of your internship
