**Brief Description about the Project**

The SOHAM Cohort study has been conceptualised to assess the “Healthy Ageing Tool -India (HAT-I)” which will be developed and validated. This tool should be able to distinguish between those with a “healthy Ageing phenotype” and those without. A large cohort of volunteers (> 40 years) will be recruited. The validated HAT-I tool will be applied to them, and they will be categorised as being at different levels of “Healthy Ageing” based on their score. This cohort will then be followed up longitudinally for 5 years, with semi-annual and annual contacts to identify the occurrence of adverse outcomes in different domains. This will be used to measure the strength of association between the baseline HAT-I score and the occurrence of adverse outcomes.
