Boom is looking to hire a desk writer with 1-2 years of experience for its news desk. Applicants should have worked at a news desk, preferably digital.

**Requirements**:

- 1-2 years of experience on a news desk
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Keen eye for news and daily trends
- Understanding of news across beats such as India, politics, international and regional
- Knowledge of how to use social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to curate news
- Basic skills to use the CMS for the production aspect of the news
- Basic knowledge of SEO and how to write headlines that work for digital news

**Responsibilities**
- Curating daily news from across beats such as breaking news, politics, and international and regional news.
- Responding to the news cycle by writing angled curations and explainers that breaks down the news for readers.
- Crosschecking and vetting information through multiple news outlets before curating.
- Producing news copies with appropriate headlines, images, keywords and tags
